Tab 1 – Summary
The Summary tab gives you a quick glance at all the vital signs of your business. You don’t actually ever have to do anything on this tab. You just look at Summary. All the information here is automatically pulled from tabs 2-4.
Tab 2 – Projects
This is the tab where all the work gets done. Here you track projects, estimate income, and track when you get paid. Projects is pretty much the most important tab on Pro. It’s your lifeblood.
Tab 3 – Expenses
It takes money to make money. But you can deduct tons of expenses from your taxable income! So save yourself some money on your quarterly tax pre-payments, or get that tax refund back at the beginning of next year. Track it here and free yourself to do the work you really want to do.
Tab 4 – Mileage
Anytime you drive for work, enter it right into the Mileage tab. Or keep a little notebook in your car and jot down trips and transfer the numbers once a month. The money deducted from your taxable income will add up quick, even if you spend most of your time at a desk. The 2020 mileage reimbursement rate in the US is 57 cents a mile!
Tab 5 – Worksheet
The Worksheet is just a place to ’show your math’ for groups of expenses. If you need to track things like cell phone bills, internet service bills, or even car repair bills, you can do it here. Then you report the total write-off over on the Expenses sheet.
Pro tip
